Contents

FlashDash is operated by FlashDash Tech LLC ("FlashDash," "we," "us"), a California limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Where we operate. FlashDash is currently available only in the United States. If we expand to other countries, we will update this policy to cover the additional requirements that apply there.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

FlashDash Tech LLC
2108 N St PMB N, Sacramento, CA 95816
Email: support@flashdash.co

2. The short version

3. Information we collect

3.1 Everyone who signs in

What Why Source
Email address Identify your account, send account-related email Google Sign-In or email signup
Display name Show who you are in the app; included in a shared message only if you opt in Google Sign-In or email signup
Account identifier (user ID) Link your dashes and settings to your account Created by us
Push notification token Send deal alerts you asked for Your device, if you enable notifications

3.2 Location

If you allow it, we use your device's location to show deals near you and to sort them by distance. Location permission is optional — you can decline it and still browse, but the app will not know what's nearby.

We use your location while you're using the app. We do not store a history of everywhere you've been. We keep your most recent approximate location so we can send you alerts about deals in your area, if you've enabled alerts.

3.3 If you're a consumer

What Why
Deals you claim ("dashes") Reserve your spot, generate your redemption code, show your dash history
Redemption activity Confirm a merchant honored your deal
App interactions Understand which deals people use, improve the feed
Alert preferences Send only the alerts you want (radius, categories)
Referral identifier See section 5
Birthday — month and day Offer you a deal on your birthday
Birth year (optional) See "Your birthday" below

Your birthday

Adding a birthday is optional. If you choose to add one:

We do not share your birthday with businesses. A business you visit sees your redemption code, not your date of birth.

3.4 If you're a business owner

What Why
Business contact details (name, business phone, business email, address) Create and manage your business listing
Your name and phone number Verify you're authorized to manage the business
Phone verification records Confirm control of the business phone number before granting access
Mailing address Send a verification postcard, if that method is used
Business photos you upload Display on your listing and deals
Deals you create Run the product
Subscription and payment status Bill you (see section 6)

When you search in the Discover tab, we log the search text, the approximate ZIP code your search covered, and whether it returned results.

These logs contain no account identifier. We do not store your name, email, or user ID alongside a search. We use them in aggregate to learn what people in each neighborhood are looking for, so we can recruit the right businesses. We do not use them to build a profile of you and we do not share them.

3.6 Reports and safety

If you report a deal or a business, we keep your report — including anything you write in it — so we can investigate. We may use automated checks to screen deal content. See section 7.

4. What we do NOT collect

5. Sharing and referrals

When you share a dash, FlashDash builds a link containing a referral identifier tied to your account. If someone installs FlashDash and signs up after tapping your link, we record that you referred them.

We use this only to understand how the app grows. We do not pay rewards or unlock features based on referrals, and we do not show your referral activity to other users.

Your name is not included by default. Shared messages are anonymous unless you turn on the "share as {your name}" option, which is opt-in each time.

The shared link opens a public page showing the deal. It does not reveal who you are, what else you've claimed, or where you are.

Sharing uses your device's normal share tools — you choose where it goes.

If you want the referral identifier removed from your account, email us and we'll clear it.

6. Payments (businesses only)

Consumers never pay FlashDash. Businesses subscribe to list deals.

We never see or store your full card number. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., which collects your card details directly. We store only:

Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

7. How we use information

We use what we collect to:

  1. Run the product — show nearby deals, let you claim them, generate redemption codes, let businesses manage listings.
  2. Send notifications you asked for — deal alerts in your chosen radius and categories, and account or business notices.
  3. Keep FlashDash trustworthy — verify that a business is controlled by who claims it, screen deal content, investigate reports, and prevent abuse of the claim system.
  4. Bill businesses — subscriptions and payment status.
  5. Improve FlashDash — understand in aggregate which deals and searches people care about, and which neighborhoods need more businesses.
  6. Offer you a birthday deal — using the month and day, if you gave us one. Your birth year, if you gave one, is used for nothing today; see "Your birthday" in section 3.3.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

8. Fair-use limits on claiming deals

To keep deals available to people who will actually use them, FlashDash may limit how many deals you can hold at once, based on your history of redeeming the deals you claim. Claiming a deal and not showing up can reduce that limit. We do not suspend accounts for missed deals — the limit simply increases as you build a track record of redeeming.

9. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We use service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:

Provider What they handle
Google (Firebase) Sign-in, database, file storage, push notifications, app configuration, abuse protection
Google Cloud Server hosting and geocoding of business addresses
Stripe Business subscription payments
Resend Transactional email (verification, invitations, notices)
Anthropic Automated screening of deal text submitted by businesses
Lob Mailing verification postcards to businesses, where used

We may also disclose information if legally required, to protect FlashDash's rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply until you're told otherwise).

What merchants see: when you claim a deal, the business sees your first name and your redemption code so they can honor it. They do not see your email, phone, location, or other claims.

10. Your choices

11. Your California privacy rights

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what we collect, to request deletion or correction, to obtain a copy, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Categories of personal information we have collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, email, account ID, device token); commercial information (deals claimed and redeemed; for businesses, subscription status); geolocation data; internet or app activity; birthday (month and day, plus birth year if you chose to provide one); and, for business owners, professional/contact information.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any right, email us. We may need to verify your identity — usually by confirming control of your account email.

12. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Dashes and redemption records are retained for a reasonable period for merchant reconciliation and dispute resolution. Anonymized search logs and aggregated statistics may be kept indefinitely — they aren't linked to you. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data — including your birthday and birth year — except where we must retain something for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.

13. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel. Business writes go through server-side checks rather than direct database access. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

14. Children

FlashDash isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

15. Changes

We'll update this policy as FlashDash changes. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continuing to use FlashDash after a change means you accept the updated policy.
